He makes his living by stealing bikes: a man arrested in the metro

A specialist in bicycle theft, a 31-year-old man has just been apprehended by the national police.

In 2023, this thirty-year-old is very active. He spends his evenings breaking padlocks to steal two-wheelers. At least six victims have been recorded. The prosecution quickly opened an investigation, entrusted to the national police. For weeks, law enforcement searched for the suspect without finding him.

A distribution sheet with his face is finally sent to all agents. It was this report that led to his arrest. This Saturday, the unit of the departmental public transport security service spotted the fugitive in the Toulouse metro. The man was then apprehended near the Jeanne-d'Arc metro station. Obviously, no bike was recovered, certainly already resold.

Following his custody, where he denied part of the facts, the suspect was referred to the Toulouse public prosecutor's office. He is placed in pre-trial detention until his trial scheduled for Wednesday, November 13.
