A murder investigation was opened after the death of a man, burned alive in Pau, on the night of Sunday November 10 to Monday November 11, France Bleu Béarn Bigorre learned from the public prosecutor.
The man was burned alive in the Ousse-des-Bois district, rue des Bougainvilliers, around 3 a.m. this Monday, November 11. Residents called the firefighters because a person was inside a burning car. They tried to help him by helping him out of his car, they also doused him with water to put out the flames. The man was screaming in pain. But he died on the spot after the firefighters arrived.
The public prosecutor of Pau, Rodolphe Jarry, opened a murder investigation. The circumstances of this tragedy, however, remain to be determined. The hypothesis of an accident or suicide has not been ruled out.
Still according to a witness, the car had only been parked there for a few minutes. She was taken away by investigators to be examined.
The Pau branch of the judicial police is responsible for the investigation. An autopsy was ordered to try to understand the facts and to confirm the identity of the victim. The man had given a name to a witness before dying. Aged 27, he does not live in Pau.
