The beautiful story between AS Beauvais Oise (ASBO) and its coach, Christophe Taine, who arrived in Oise in June 2023, is well and truly over. After the last draw obtained, Friday November 8 at the Brisson stadium, against Balagne (1-1) and a 10th place in the standings, the days of the Beauvais coach seemed numbered. The name of the former Beauvais player, Jérôme Brocard, was circulating on Saturday in the bays of the Beauvais enclosure but the club chaired by Corinne Corillion favored the internal solution.
This Monday, November 11, the club's steering committee therefore confirmed the rumors of his ouster. He decided to part ways with his coach due to insufficient results (10 points in 10 matches). “This decision, taken after careful consideration and in the interest of the club, responds to our ambition to obtain the best possible results for you supporters and partnersexplains the ASBO in a press release. And to continue: the different parties will meet in the coming days to find an agreement that can satisfy the interests of the club and those of Mr. Taine. Remember that Christophe Taine, on contract until June 2025, was extended last June by the short-lived new management until June 2026.
Romain Elie changes status, Murtula Sacko deputy
In the meantime, the Beauvais club has appointed Christophe Taine's assistant, Romain Elie, 39, as head of the first team. The latter had already replaced him on July 23 during a friendly match against Paris Atletico 13 when Christophe Taine was blocked from behind. Remember that Romain Elie ended his career, in June 2023, in the ASBO jersey at the age of 38, before being appointed assistant to Christophe Taine.
Born in Beauvais, Romain Elie will be assisted by Murtula Sacko who also remains coach of the reserve, currently at the head of his R2 group.
“The club is determined to do everything in place to redress the sporting situation and achieve its objectives”recalls AS Beauvais Oise which also has to deal with the sudden departure of its communications manager, Nacim Rahoui and the publication of a worrying tweet from Romain Molina, Sunday November 10, the journalist-writer renowned for his revelations in the world of football, announcing on Sunday, November 10, that “the Beauvais club was legally going to cease payments”. On the pitch or behind the scenes, life is never a long, quiet river at AS Beauvais Oise.
