In this duel at the top of the table, our two representatives were keen. The desire to do well, including intentions on both sides to win. However, mishaps have altered the game.
First the exits due to injuries of Lucas Doucet (25th) and Theo Latapie (35th) for PVG, forcing Franck Loussert to make two changes after a little over thirty minutes of play and then this first exit led to another, since the tackle in the corner of the area by Thibaut Baqué (TPF) was too strong, leaving only one choice for the man in black: expulsion. PVG therefore had to compose a large part of the match with a reduced bench when Tarbes played with 10…
And in the first act it was the locals who were the most dangerous with Latapie (9th), Aoustin (25th) and Augusto (43rd, 44th).
Conversely for the TPF, the only dangerous action was a counter from the local defender Viard (40th) who took the trajectory of the goal, fortunately not on target. A balanced match overall and this was confirmed. It was in the second half that the debates heated up thanks to the Tarbais first, who started at full speed through Jaafar (47th) then El Omary (49th) or Peteilh (54th) whose solution could only come from him.
At the hour mark, it was Aoustin as a good captain who gave his team the advantage, but subsequently, the indiscipline at the entrance to the area was going to be costly.
If on the first free kick (65th), Peteilh grazed the upper part of the crossbar, the second was perfectly adjusted (71st): here again Peteilh grazed the crossbar but this time the ball ended up in the top corner.
So with the forces present, the FCPVG could not hope for better (and this should not get better with the list of wounded which is growing), well yes, but they would have been miraculous and yet…
The Tarbes reservists did not deserve better, but they had the strength of character to come back, carried offensively by Peteilh, a fine sleuth.
