A first visit by the two presidents of the parliamentary chambers to New Caledonia. It began this Monday, November 11, 2024, with the commemoration of the Armistice of November 11 at Place Bir-Hakeim, in Nouméa.

  • Gérard Larcher and Yaël-Braun Pivet then went to the customary Senate, where they met its president. “Your role is important, you must continue with what we want: dialogue for rediscovered peace, for serenity. Making two dreams, a shared dream is a major challenge.” said the President of the Senate.
  • At the end of the morning, they met Louis Mapou, president of the government, then Veylma Falaeo, the president of the Congress.

In the afternoon, head to Koné, in the Northern province, with an interview with its president, Paul Néaoutyine. At the end of the day, return to Nouméa for a meeting with the two presidents of the South and Islands provinces: Sonia Backès and Jacques Lalié.
