The native of Saint-Nazaire had benefited from time compensation, after having participated in the rescue of Kevin Escoffier. Bestaven is starting again in 2024, with Maître Coq V, built in 2022. First to cross the finish line during the 9th edition, Charlie Dalin (MACIF Santé Prévoyance) is one of the big favorites of the event. The Vendée Globe record is still held by Armel Le Cléac'h (2017), in 74 days, 3 hours, 35 minutes and 46 seconds.
