For the second year in a row, the companies of the Ukrainian state gas concern Naftogaz are steadily increasing their production of “blue fuel” in order to fully meet the needs of Ukrainians and plan to further develop gas production.
“For the second year in a row, we managed to ensure a 7% increase in gas production. We also encourage private companies to continue producing gas,” said Oleksiy Chernyshov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Naftogaz of Ukraine, on the sidelines of the 10th Kyiv International Economic Forum.
He noted that under the conditions of the ban on exporting “blue fuel”, Naftogaz purchased gas from private producers through the Ukrainian Energy Exchange.
“This allows us to accumulate a sufficient volume of gas in underground storage facilities,” Chernyshov commented.
According to him, the current daily production of “blue fuel” in Ukraine is 54 million cubic meters.
“If we talk about forecasts for next year, if we maintain the pace of development, we will achieve very high figures,” noted the CEO of Naftogaz.
He also emphasized that currently the population, thermal power plants and budgetary organizations are fully supplied with gas of Ukrainian production. The gas supply system is ready to meet the challenges of the heating season.
As reported, Naftogaz Group companies produced more than 11 billion cubic meters of gas between January and September 2024, which is 0.7 billion cubic meters more than in the same period of 2023.
