Downloads from Safari are shown in Live Activities

The second developer beta of iOS 18.2 includes some interesting new features, such as RCS support from Free and Bouygues Telecom. The Settings are also changing, since following the integration of ChatGPT with Siri, it becomes possible to subscribe to ChatGPT Plus directly from the iPhone settings. Apple is not putting Safari aside either. Current downloads from the search engine can now appear in Live Activities on iOS 18.2.

You can track Safari downloads in Live Activities with iOS 18.2

Live Activities appear like regular notifications, with the difference that these evolve in real time. This allows you, for example, to stay informed live about the score of a football match without needing to access your sports results application.

Thanks to the second developer beta of iOS 18.2, downloads in progress in Safari can also appear in Live Activities. Once a download is started and the search engine is closed, the download appears as a Live Activity in Dynamic Island. Just swipe up to collapse the banner.

You will also be able to see the progress of it from your iPhone's lock screen by having the possibility to make the notification disappear if it bothers you. Note that the notification informs you about the progress of your download, but it also allows you to stop it using the blue button that you cannot miss. This is another new feature in iOS 18.2, perhaps a little more discreet than the others, but which should make people happy.

Remember that the very first public beta of iOS 18.2 is available. Obviously, it gives pride of place to Apple Intelligence, which will not arrive until April 2025 in . You can still install it to discover new functions that do not require AI.
