Thanks to the second developer beta of iOS 18.2, downloads in progress in Safari can also appear in Live Activities. Once a download is started and the search engine is closed, the download appears as a Live Activity in Dynamic Island. Just swipe up to collapse the banner.
You will also be able to see the progress of it from your iPhone's lock screen by having the possibility to make the notification disappear if it bothers you. Note that the notification informs you about the progress of your download, but it also allows you to stop it using the blue button that you cannot miss. This is another new feature in iOS 18.2, perhaps a little more discreet than the others, but which should make people happy.
Remember that the very first public beta of iOS 18.2 is available. Obviously, it gives pride of place to Apple Intelligence, which will not arrive until April 2025 in France. You can still install it to discover new functions that do not require AI.
