Guest on Léa Salamé's show, Bambou spoke about her new work in which she recounts her life with Serge Gainsbourg.

At 65, Bambou, whose real name is Caroline Paulus, decided
to tell his life story. In a poignant autobiography, she speaks openly about her unwelcoming adoptive family and a violent mother, until her saving encounter with Serge Gainsbourg, whose last companion she was.

Their meeting was as beautiful as it was chaotic in 1980. Together, they had a son, Lulu. Bambou remained with Serge Gainsbourg until his death in 1991. From their decade as a couple, we keep a memory both sulphurous and sweetassociated with the singer's provocative character.

Léa Salamé confides in Bambou

This Tuesday, November 5, Bambou was invited to Léa Salamé's show on France Inter. All her life, Bambou carried her mother's look of disgust all her life, including when she was a model. Thus, she never became aware of her immense beauty as she confided to the host: “I thought that anyone could take photos, with good light, a good photographer, a good makeup artist”, she revealed.

Faced with this outburst of rejection, Bambou managed to overcome his demons. But she experienced traumatic ordeals. “I have to say I was told that 'Bambou is writing his book, are you interested?' I said yes for Gainsbourg and in fact it’s you
which is very interesting in this book. This childhood is crazy. First suicide attempt at age 9″,
declared Léa Salamé, stunned by the journey of her interlocutor.

The chaotic life of Serge Gainsbourg's former partner

Lé Salamé then returned to the life strewn with pitfalls of Serge Gainsbourg's former partner. From his multiple suicide attempts to his drug addiction. She reviewed the chaotic path of this woman with her fragilities and her sensitivity.

With the artist, she recognized herself and felt happy. She seemed as fragile as him. Two broken hearts. After several fights, Bambou finally managed to save himself…
