A treasure worth gold sleeping in your drawers? Have it appraised for free at the collectors' fair

the essential
A beautiful collection of… collections. This is what awaits curious people and collectors on Monday, November 11, in Cahors, in a show considered one of the most important in . This both by its number of stands and by the gems it will present. The icing on the cake: the ACL (Association of Collectors of the Lot) offers to estimate your collections free of charge. Some will go to the show with their stamp album under their arm. And you, what do you collect? Open your drawers and your trunks. Treasure may be buried there.

Whether he is a collector of miniature cars, stamps, postcards or even butterflies and watches, an enthusiast who wants to collect his rarest treasures at home, in his drawers, or in decorative mode for all to see , will always make other enthusiasts salivate. Salivate or completely fall for daring to start a collection.

There are even collectors of collections. This shows how far the passion and gentle madness of some people can go who say they are capable of spending a lot of money to complete their collection with the rare bird they are missing.

A highly rated show full of a thousand and one objects

You still have to find this rare and necessarily expensive bird. How ? By walking the aisles of collectors’ shows. That of Cahors is very popular. It will open its doors on Monday, November 11, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (entrance: €2) at the Foyer Valentré which will welcome 60 exhibitors with objects still hidden in their boxes, ready to be unpacked to play their role: to challenge connoisseurs, to seduce novices and encourage some to start a collection.

The great classics and nice surprises

“Many visitors are not collectors. Their mouths quickly water as soon as they open the door of the Foyer Valentré. We will welcome 60 exhibitors from all over . It is a multi-collection show. There will be all the objects that one can imagine, with great classics of course, such as stamps, postcards, small cars, rare books, posters, coins…” list Claude Noirjean (president of the ACL) and Marc Lagaly (secretary of the ACL).

Figurines, two weapons stands, as well as Pokémon cards complete the inventory set out by the two men. On the other hand, Marc Lagaly announces “the presence at the show of a car, a scale model, made by students enrolled in Bac Pro bodywork at the Monnerville high school in Cahors. It will be front-wheel drive.”

The pretty toys of yesteryear that we took out on Thursdays

Finally, “another traction, this one in real size, will also cause a sensation at the show” adds Claude Noirjean. “People come to treat themselves hoping to complete their collection, others will take advantage of the show to buy Christmas gifts. There will be a few toys” continues the president of the ACL.

The show will play on the heartstrings by putting the books of their childhood under the nostalgic noses, without forgetting the toy of yesteryear which occupied their Thursday, the day of rest for schoolchildren before it became Wednesday. The good times!

“More than 1,000 visitors are expected. They will be delighted, at the entrance, with the gift of a collector's postcard created by the illustrator Jean-Christophe Vergne, originally from Figeac” concludes Marc Lagaly. But the highlight of the show, ultimately, will perhaps be your own collection if it is valued at a gold price. Who knows?
