This weekend, the OM reserves experienced a tense meeting in Corsica, marked by a 2-0 defeat and an altercation involving striker Robinio Vaz. Already affected by internal tensions between manager Ali Zarrak and coach Jean-Pierre Papin, the team had a difficult evening at Corte. As Provence tells it, after a match where the refereeing was judged catastrophic by an Olympian source, the OM players were caught in a scuffle as they returned to the locker room.
Dozens of outsiders in the tunnel
Robinio Vaz, at the center of the incident, allegedly fired a ball towards a fence where Corsican supporters were standing, provoking aggressive reactions. According to witnesses, members of the OM staff had to intervene to protect the player. One of them was even hit while trying to calm the situation. Tensions increased when dozens of people from outside the match entered the tunnel. Without the intervention of three Olympians to block, the Marseille delegation could have suffered more violence. Although no one was injured, the event shocked the players and staff. Vaz and a Corte player were sent off. The duration of suspension of Vaz, recruited this summer, remains to be determined.
