The Premier League clash between Manchester United and Chelsea ended in a draw yesterday (1-1) at Old Trafford. After this draw, coaches Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Enzo Maresca gave their feelings.
Ruud Van Nistelrooy:
« I think what you saw today, against a very good Chelsea team, was that we fought well. I think we had the best chances, I'm a little disappointed we didn't get all three points. This is the way forward for this group of players and I saw some great performances today, I saw some great performances. I have to say that in defense, Lisandro and Matthijs did a great job. I think Nous Mazraoui had a great match and Casemiro did a good job. Bruno took his responsibilities, he participated in all the attacks. I don't think anyone was missing today (…) I think the players take a lot of responsibility. Enzo Maresca:
« I think overall we controlled the game well, knowing that against them you are going to concede a few chances, especially on the counter-attack, due to the skills of the players, with Rashford and Garnacho behind. We knew it. I think we did the hardest thing in this stadium and against this team, which was to come back after they scored. We were behind but we came back and probably after the 1-1, because of the desire to try to win the match, we exposed ourselves too much in the last five or ten minutes and we conceded a little more. Overall we are satisfied. In Italy we usually say that if you can't win, it's important not to lose. In the end, we tried everything to win the match.
