Hundreds of people are expected this Saturday evening to demonstrate in front of the residence of President Isaac Herzog and on the “Place des Otages”. The Hostage Families Committee thus marks the 393rd day of captivity of the 101 hostages still held by Hamas.
“In recent days, families are following with hope and anxiety the proposed agreements for the release of their loved ones,” indicates the Committee. “The war objectives have been achieved – Hamas is weakened and conditions are ripe for an agreement allowing the return of all – the living for rehabilitation and the bodies of the victims for burial in their country.”
The families oppose a phased deal, demanding a single, complete release that would “end the war with a decisive victory.” “As long as the hostages are not returned, Hamas maintains the advantage,” they emphasize.
A separate protest is also planned in front of the presidential residence in Tzahala, Tel Aviv. Organizers call on President Herzog to “tell the truth to the Israeli public about introducing foreign and personal considerations into political decision-making” and to “fully support the negotiating team” in reaching a deal.
