In Paris, four districts on the right bank of the Seine will be placed in limited traffic zones. All motorized vehicles will be prohibited with a few exceptions in these areas. The aim is to encourage people to travel by bike or take public transport.
Will traffic jams in the center of Paris disappear? This is in any case the objective of the limited traffic zone from Tuesday November 5, it will be prohibited for any motorized vehicle to cross four districts on the right bank of the Seine. Only residents, people who work there, customers in the area, emergency vehicles, taxis and public transport will be able to enter.
A few days before the implementation of this measure, many local residents were not aware of it. “I discover it now” declares a local resident. Around forty signs will be revealed for Monday evening and will indicate the entrance to these limited traffic zones. The objective is to encourage people to travel by bike or public transport. The fine will be 135 euros for people who do not respect this new measure. For six months, the checks will be educational only.
