An urban forest in Port Marianne

And project will be in the running in the capital to win the prestigious prize. His name: Evanesensa housing building designed by the architect François Fontès and carried by the promoter Roxim who must emerge from the ground in the Port Marianne district“facing the lez, alongside the Town Hall and its landscaped park”, specifies the FPI. This project has just won the regional prize of the Silver Pyramidsa distinction which automatically propels the work of François Fontès to the final in Paris.

50 meters high and two towers

Evanesens, described as “ a vertical and urban forest », is an original and daring project: the building of 50 meters high will house 74 housing units (including 12 affordable housing units) two towers of 10 and 17 floors and will serve as support “for a true vertical forest which will have no less than 4 587 plantations… Nearly two kilometers of planters will accommodate selected plants and trees, facade by facade, level by level, according to their capacity for adaptation, their resistance to wind and heat, but also their suitability to constitute a refuge for biodiversity ».

The two Evanesens towers will be linked together by greenhouses, sometimes common convivial spaces, sometimes private spaces, thus participating in the momentum of the architectural project. To ensure the success of this project, François Fontès' team worked with Laura Gattirecognized agronomist landscaper and co-designer of the highly awarded Bosco Verticale in Milan. The different devices that will equip the towers will thus take into account the requirements linked to the development of trees and vegetation: their needs, their specificities, etc.

“The residence will also house spacious and bright accommodation with one ambition: to merge interior and exterior. The terraces will be real gardens which change with the seasons and which naturally cool the homes,” underlines the architect. “Evanesens is committed to sustainable city : the residence will contribute to natural balances by promoting evapotranspiration, welcoming biodiversity and ensuring a role of thermal regulator ».

The little extra : Evanesens will host a recovery and gray water recycling to irrigate green spaces
