On this gigantic playground, the association offers several activities. An agility field where dog owners can come and practice with their four-legged friends, a pétanque field accessible free of charge. But above all, the possibility of practicing 3D archery. A discipline which consists of moving on natural terrain, shooting at fake plastic animals. But there was still a little something missing, in the eyes of Marie-Neige and Daniel, who had an idea.
“It’s a unique track in Charente. We wanted to offer a little more activity to families in winter. »
Their new project? Have a large track built to allow visitors to come and practice archery, but on horseback. “It’s a unique track in Charente, something was missing and we wanted to offer a little more activity to families in winter,” assures Daniel Moritz. To install it, it was necessary to completely rearrange the spaces occupied by the different activities.
It was only afterwards that this former soldier managed to demarcate a 350 meter long loop. Around ten round targets were scattered throughout the course. “They all measure 80 centimeters and are placed ten or twelve meters from the route,” explains Daniel, who also installed small jumps to make the exercise more difficult.

This route was developed in just a few days. “We demarcated everything with stakes, barriers and a good mower,” smiles Daniel Moritz, who specifies that this track is already passable for free, but under certain conditions. Until the end of February, all horse owners who wish can go and train there, if they wish, provided they book.
“This will allow us to collect their feelings, their opinion, to know what needs to be improved on this route,” argues Marie-Neige Sardin. She is also preparing to receive a visit in a few days from a high-level expert, in the person of Alan Le Gall, who is none other than the coach of the French archery team. horseback bow. A discipline in which French athletes regularly shine at world level.
By the end of next winter, the association will also acquire two horses, which will benefit from a huge meadow in which to rest, as well as a brand new box. “It’s a fairly heavy investment which amounts to around €10,000 in total,” explains the president of the association. For safety reasons, the trail will only be used by one rider at a time. The public will be kept away, and other activities will not overlap.
