War in Ukraine: it carries Zircon hypersonic missiles, stealthy and capable of reaching Mach 9… The Russian combat ship Admiral Golovko has left its base

The ship is heading towards the Atlantic via the Barents Sea.

War in Ukrainejour 982.

The movements of Russian troops are scrutinized by observers of the conflict. Those of their machines and their ships too.

One building has particularly stood out in recent hours. This is the frigate Amiral Golovkonamed after a Stalin-era naval commander. This warship has left its base in Severomorsk. According to information distilled by TASS and taken up by the Mirror, it would be heading towards the Atlantic via the Barents Sea.

“Long distance deployment”

The problem is that Admiral Golovko carries formidable weapons and, among other things, Zircon hypersonic missiles. Missiles with a range of 1,000km, which can reach speeds of Mach 9 (i.e. 11,000 km/h), and which are completely stealthy.

According to the press release from the Russian press agency TASS, cited by our colleagues: “The main objectives of this long-range deployment are to display the Russian flag and ensure Russia's naval presence in operationally important areas of the World Ocean”.

A maneuver which takes place in a climate of war in Ukraine, of course, but also of international tensions which result from it. While Russia is already adding fuel to the fire by relying on North Korean troops.
