President Laurent Tabutin said he was “angry and above all unhappy”, after pointing the finger at “the terrible weather conditions which were announced around the Mediterranean […] Many thought that our trip would be postponed, unfortunately that was never considered!“. Before adding that “this terrible news has collectively destroyed us We thought so much about Loïc's partner and the baby they had just had the pleasure of welcoming into their home.”
A tribute was also paid by Emmanuelle Gazel, the mayor of Millau. She addressed his “sincere condolences to Loïc Keita's partner, to his family and loved ones as well as to all of his playmates, coaches and supervisors”. In the name of “the entire municipal council”, the elected official insisted on “give all our support and friendship in this terrible ordeal. We are at your side…”
