Old chairs, outdated desks. In this electricity company, this building is going to be refurbished. So obsolete furniture will have to be gotten rid of.
“A few years ago, this furniture would be left in recycling center, explains Jean-François Guillon, waste sector representative at Soregies. Today, we are engaged in a virtuous approach, we are trying to reduce nos volumes of waste”.
It is here in material libraries, such as that of Montmorillon, in Vienne, that these pieces of furniture are found.
“This comes from companies members of the association, rejoices Lucie Milon
Director EIT South-Vienna. What some will consider waste, others consider raw material. The issue of recover, give a second life and avoid landfilling. We encourage reuse as much as possible.”
There are almost twenty tons of materials here. Initially intended for professionals, the material library is now open to individuals. When ecology rhymes with economy.

Businesses also win. They are submitted has a tax on THE waste. By lightening them, they lighten their burdens.

To do good for the planet and the wallet, the Montmorillon materials library is open to individuals every last Friday of the month.
