Rain-floods: a woman kills herself by falling into a hole formed by floods in Ardèche

A woman, aged 58, approached a hole created following the latest bad weather on the road in Burzet (Ardèche), the prefecture said in a press release.

“The victim would then have fallen into the latter corresponding directly with the La Bourges river which would have carried him away for 400 meters”, we specify from the same source. Alerted, the firefighters could only note the death of the victim. The prefecture calls for “vigilance from all”, stressing that “the risk of landslides and the still very high level of watercourses still constitute real dangers”.

Ardèche was one of the departments most affected by the “exceptional” rainfall of recent days, which caused devastating floods.
