– Federal 2, 5th day: a unifying match for Cahors

The Cadurcians continue their flawless performance in this Federal 2 championship with a new victory won on Saturday against Arpajon with a score of 21 to 13. With a try scored in the first minute, some may have, in this scenario, seen a possible new offensive and unbridled festival. But Arpajon, who had clearly not been a victim, forced the locals, faced with the reality of the championship, to make certain sacrifices to win. Between a certain lack of control but also luck at times, they did not really manage to win the match. Forced to defend at the end of the game, they still managed to preserve the essentials, the victory and the leadership position. A unifying match not to be forgotten and which should serve as a good basis for work for the future and already for the next test on Sunday at Malemort.

Mathis Da Silva (back): “The victory is there but we got too involved in their game. We lacked control and we sometimes set ourselves on fire for nothing. We see that nothing is being done and this match brings us back to earth.”

Didier Valade (president): “Happy with this victory against a great Arpajon team. In this same type of match two years ago we conceded a draw. This year we are winning but we know that there is still a long way to go.”

Vincent Debaye (co-trainer): “Arpajon is a great team, perhaps the strongest we have encountered so far and if we are satisfied with this fifth victory, we see that we sometimes lack control. We must continue to work and review things before going to Malemort on Sunday.”

The hopeful team returns to victory

The hopeful team found its way back to victory by winning with a score of 20 to 0. An important victory which does not completely satisfy co-trainer Florian Fage: “the essential is done but we regret not have the bonus against a valiant and courageous team. But in the second half we lacked too much control, we didn’t follow the instructions. We will have to bounce back immediately and everyone will have to get into tune from Sunday at Malemort.”
