Rigor, initiative and operational management skills are among the qualities required for this profession in which job offers are numerous. On its website, the SNCF informs that there are currently 2,200 switching stations.

In terms of salary, these executives at SNCF can hope to earn on average 5,034 euros gross per month. Note that at SNCF, the salary corresponds to remuneration “meeting your skills and responsibilities, remuneration that evolves with your professional career”.

Join an SNCF training center

To apply, a candidate must hold a bac +5 technical oriented (engineering or university degree). If his profile is selected, he will be able to join the training when taking up a position with the SNCF. For information, all SNCF positions are open to people with disabilities.

Upon arrival at the training center, a production entity welcomes the future rail traffic operational manager for approximately ten months. During this training, candidates acquire all the technical and regulatory skills necessary to practice the profession. Once confirmed, they have the possibility of evolving towards a position responsible for the organization of rail traffic or even a design engineer.
