War in Ukraine: Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot visiting kyiv this weekend

In a video published on X (formerly Twitter), the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jean-Noël Barrot, announced he was going to Ukraine. This Saturday, October 19, the minister arrived in kyiv.

For the first time, Jean-Noël Barrot goes to Ukraine, to kyiv. The Minister of Foreign Affairs arrived, as planned, in the Ukrainian capital. He announced this Friday evening, October 18, in a video posted on X (formerly Twitter), his arrival.

“Support, again and again”

Today I am going to Ukraine.

Support, again and again, for Ukraine’s resistance against Russian aggression.

Support, again and again, for civilians who are suffering.

Respect for international law is the condition of our collective security.

In this video, Jean-Noël Barrot states that he “is going to Ukraine to remind people that the fight of the Ukrainians is also ours.” During an interview at the microphone of Interthe minister also declared that he was going to Ukraine to “carry the voice of France, remind us that France does not turn away from any crisis”.

Jean-Noël Barrot will spend the weekend with his Ukrainian counterpart Andrii Sybiga. In a press release, the Quai d’Orsay explains that this visit will allow “the minister to reiterate France’s support for Ukraine, to discuss with the Ukrainian authorities the Ukrainian victory plan, the situation at the front but also the living conditions of Ukrainian civilians and soldiers.”
