. The -born Théojasmine releases a new song, “Ha oui”, with an album in sight

the essential
We had exhausted his previous album, “Pereut-être”. We are now going to taste a new track by Théojasmine, a very talented songwriter, while feverishly waiting for a new album.

Behind Théojasmine (attached and in lower case) is Jean-Pierre Macia, whom Toulouse lovers of contemporary know well. This man has several lives, which he mixes and intertwines according to his desires and desires. Today, it is through that he returns, with an enigmatic title, “Ha oui”, a somewhat melancholy soundtrack of an autumn which is slowly moving towards winter.

Powerful drums, airy choirs, guitar and warm, deep vocals set the scene. The electropop design surprises and seduces, the text plays with the sounds (“When will we be the other? / When will we know how to be?”) and the song insinuates itself into your skull. Resist this soft melody, these crafted arrangements? Don’t even think about it.

“Listening to others, and to the world”

“This song was born two years ago, confides the artist. I had two words, three chords and I pulled the thread. We feel things, we let it rest, like a guy makes his colors, I make mine with words…” This onomatopoeia, “Ha yes”, intrigued the songwriter: it can be a conclusion as well as an introduction to an idea. “It is a little outdated, it can be a surprise, a pain: it can evoke this lack of light, this need to listen to others, and to the world.”

Produced with the faithful accomplice Lone Kent, a jack of all trades (and well), “Ha oui” plays with reliefs: full and clear strokes, like a lull before – or after – a storm. The pop that we loved on “Peut-être”, Théojasmine’s previous album, is enriched and sublimated by electro arrangements. “JP, he dares!” Lone Kent repeated during the recording.

The magician dares, and that’s good: we will still follow him in all his future sonic adventures. Especially if they are accompanied, like “Ha oui”, by a wonderful clip directed by Philippe Pitet, an astonishing mix of animation and collages, which he will present (including in his “making of”) this Sunday for the official release of the title, which will soon be followed by another “Lying yourself”.

Launch of the title “Ha oui” by Théojasmine at the TA workshop (Trafiquants d’Art, 32, rue des Jumeaux, Toulouse) Sunday October 20 from 3 p.m. Clips on the big screen, “making-of” etc.
