MHD wasted no time in getting back in the saddle. The rapper, whose real name is Mohamed Sylla, made his return to the stage yesterday alongside his colleague Werenoi during a concert at the Accor Arena Bercy, as shown in a Skyrock video on X/Twitter. Eight months earlier, the singer was released from La Santé prison after appealing his sentence last year to 12 years in prison for the murder of a certain Loïc K., who was 23 years old at the time of the made in 2018.
Now awaiting his appeal trial, MHD also took part in the concert two weeks earlier Game Over 3 at the Adidas Arena in Paris, with RK, Kerchak, Da Uzi, DADI, Nahir and Yorssy. Beyond these performances, MHD also released two hits, Full et Saybuilding on their success on listening platforms. If the rapper’s career has slowed down due to his recent run-ins with the law, his beginnings were rather glorious.

He became widely known in 2015 thanks to his hit Afro Trap, Part 3 (Champions League)which is notably taken up by players and fans of Paris-Saint-Germain (PSG) due to the mention of the football club in the song. His videos are a success and he was nominated for the Victoires de la Musique in 2017, before seeing his album 19 being certified platinum two years later. The rapper also credits himself with the invention of “afro-trap”, a musical genre mixing trap with African music styles.
But in July 2018, everything changed. On the night of July 5 to 6, 2018, young Loïc was deliberately knocked down by a car in the 10th arrondissement of Paris, before suffering beatings and knife attacks by around ten men. What was quickly identified as a settling of scores between rival gangs quickly escalated to the rapper when investigators determined that the vehicle in question, found burned the next day, belonged to MHD. The artist has nevertheless proclaimed his innocence on several occasions. Despite his conviction, MHD continues some musical projects and his album Mansareleased in 2021, is certified gold.
