Lumière MIFC 2024 – On the program for Thursday October 17

The detailed menu for this third day of the 2024 edition of the International Classic Film Market in .

The third day of the MIFC will open at 9h30 with the Re>Birth #1 program. Four films to be restored in search of partners will be presented in the conference room of the MIFC Village.

Meetings with project leaders will take place at 10h30.

A 11:15 a.m., A case study will be held entitled: AI use case: The tools developed by the INA to promote its heritagestill in the conference room of the MIFC Village.
Speakers:
– Pascal Flard (deputy head of “Media management & processing” department at the INA)
– Xavier Lemarchand (mission director – AI coordination and integration at INA)
– Moderator: Perrine Quennesson (journalist)

Simultaneously, as part of the MIFC Exploiting Journey, at 11:15 a.m. will be projected Tasio of Montxo Armendariz at the Hangar of the Institute of Light.

A 1 p.m., MIFC accredited staff will be able to enjoy a lunch.

A 14h, A Europe round table will be held in the conference room of the MIFC Village on the question: How to strengthen Europe’s support for heritage: what policies? What support devices?

– Aurélie Champagne (deputy director in charge of legal and European affairs at the CNC)
– Maria-Silvia Gatta (responsible project Creative Europe MEDIA, EU Commission)
– Bérénice Honold (advisor to the Director General / International Affairs, FFA).
Moderator: Florian Krieg (editor-in-chief, The French Film).

A 14h50, still as part of the Exhibitor Journey, the Zola cinema will host the screening of Malcom Xdirected by Spike Lee (1992, Metropolitan Filmexport).

Back at the Lumière Festival, episodes 1 to 4 of Disclaimer, event series by Alfonso Cuaron, will be screened at 16h at the UGC Ciné Cité Part-Dieu.

A 17h, a technical Workshop will be organized in the conference room of the MIFC Village, entitled: The technical challenges of film today and tomorrow.

A 6:30 p.m. the MIFC Village will host a cocktail sponsored by the French Institute and the Cinémathèque Afrique.

A 21h45, the day will end at the UGC Ciné Cité Confluence with the screening of Pusherdirected by Nicolas Wending Refn, preceded by his short film Beauty Is Not a Sinin the presence of the filmmaker.
