A day around the departmental food strategy

After a governance committee (annual meeting) focused on the departmental food strategy, a conference and a round table on food insecurity in rural areas were organized at the Domaine des Clévos in Étoile-sur-Rhône, Friday October 4.

Marie-Pierre Mouton, president of the Department, Franck Soulignac, vice-president responsible in particular for agricultural and food policies and Agnès Jaubert, departmental advisor, met various Drôme stakeholders such as associations such as Agri court, members of the Drôme Club of food or the Auvergne-Rhône Alpes gourmand committee. In the afternoon, Mathilde Ferrand, a researcher supported among others by the Department, presented her thesis on food insecurity in rural areas. Social impediments, mobility and the cost of products are among the obstacles exposed by the scientist. Finally, the day ended with a round table in the presence of organizations such as the Vrac Drôme association and Accueilillette to make the link between food insecurity and local producers.

Mathilde Ferrand, doctoral student, presented her thesis under the gaze of the public and Agnès Jaubert, departmental advisor. ME-AD26
