Ligue 1: A hard blow to Ramos for Monaco

Like PSG since the start of the season with Gonçalo Ramos, AS Monaco will be without its center forward Folarin Balogun for several weeks. The American striker injured his shoulder before the break.

Leader of Ligue 1 after 7 days, two points ahead of PSG, AS Monaco has lost its Anglo-American striker Folarin Balogun (23 years old) for two months. The former Arsenal and striker injured his left shoulder in before the break, a match in which he scored his team’s winning goal.

According to L’Equipe, he suffers from a dislocation of the glenohumeral joint of the left shoulder and the normal duration of unavailability for this type of injury is two months. A hard blow for PSG’s competitor for the title. Recruited in August 2023 for 30 million euros, Balogun had a complicated first season on the Rock with only 8 goals scored (including one at the Parc des Princes last November during PSG’s 5-2 victory).

With two months out, Balogun is expected to be out until mid-December and miss a dozen matches. He could potentially return against Reims on the weekend of December 14-15, just before the winter break, or more probably for the clash against PSG on the 16th day of Ligue 1, which will be played on the weekend of 4- January 5, 2025. By then, Gonçalo Ramos will have resumed normally with PSG, the Portuguese being expected on the field from the end of November, three months after his injury to his left ankle against .
