Winner of these elections, will Corine Mullens have control over the alliances?
The list led by Corine Mullens comes first and wins 8 seats. But there is no name of mayor to reveal at this time, because she does not obtain an absolute majority.
UPDATE: An MR-IC and POUR coalition in Rochefort: Corine Mullens returned to the opposition
The @venir Citoyen list carries 8 seats, the MR-IC 7, POUR 6 and ECOLO 2. It is therefore Corine Mullens’ list which comes first. In terms of preferred votes, the list also achieves very good scores for several of its candidates, starting with the head of the list which comes first in all lists combined with 1387 votes (ahead of Pierre-Yves Dermagne from the POUR list and his 1341 voice).
But at the time of writing these lines, no party can yet claim the mayorate, because to obtain a majority in Rochefort, an alliance will be necessary, and the games are open.
Corine Mullens declared on our set this Sunday evening:
I will not exclude any partner.
It remains to be seen whether Julien Defaux and Pierre-Yves Dermagne do not intend to form an alliance of their own, we asked them the question. For Pierre-Yves Dermagne (FOR):
This evening there is no resounding victory (…). It is in democratic logic that the list which finished first has the upper hand.
Julien Defaux (MR-IC) declares that he respects the citizen’s signal but remains more evasive on the subject:
We will have to draw the future with these results, we will have to hold discussions to see who and how we will run the city of Rochefort.
Reaction from Corine Mullens:
(Not giving control to the first list) would send a strong signal, it would deny democracy. I hope that we will respect the citizen’s choice, otherwise Rochefort will no longer understand anything.
