Around thirty firefighters mobilized on a grain dryer fire, north of

A fire broke out in a grain dryer at the Boisseaux agricultural cooperative, north of , on Monday October 14, shortly before 8:30 a.m.

The firefighters were called around 8:30 a.m., Monday October 14, to intervene
on a grain dryer which contained 70 tonnes of sunflower, on the site of the Boisseaux cooperative, north of the Loiret. A release of smoke was noted by employees. While waiting for help to arrive, the cooperative proceeded to empty the silo.

By 10:50 a.m. the situation had stabilized. Temperature readings are in progress (this morning). An intervention team specializing in chemical risks was dispatched to the site to carry out checks for carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide. A security perimeter has been set up, as there is always a risk of explosion.

Site activity interrupted

Around thirty firefighters from Eure-et-Loir, Essonne and Loiret are mobilized. A command post was set up to coordinate operations. The police are also on site.

As Franck Hardouin, the director of the cooperative, explains, “the operational intervention plan was followed. The situation is controlled. There was no conflagration. There are just a few hot spots left to control. “Activity is stopped on the site for the moment. We have informed the farmers. We will reopen when we have the green light from the firefighters.”
