Ice hockey – 3rd day Division 1: Close scores almost everywhere, comes back to -3 points.

In this third day of Division 1, only one goal difference could decide between the winning teams. Since there always needs to be an exception, it was on the ice of the Skoda Arena in Morzine-Avoriaz that it was played out over a wider gap.

Let’s start this story by going to the Vosges. The Wildcats were hot, but still won (7-6) against a northern team determined to break the deadlock. If the score was perfectly fair after twenty minutes of play: Florian Sabatier scored for Épinal et Patrik Jaaskelainen pour things got tough for Julien Guimard’s team in the second half. Indeed, despite two goals from the Red Devils scored by Anatole De Mali and Maxime Bataillé, Valenciennes still conceded five goals, by Peter Hrehorcak with a hat-trick, Anthony Rapenne and Alexandre Lubin. At the end of the middle third, a new goal from Maxime Bataillé reduced the gap. The third third was just as eventful, but in favor of the visitors this time. Jules Renault and Marcus Karlsson deceived Antoine Bonvalot in turn, followed by the last Spinal goal scored by Dominik Fujerik. To close the show, Maxwell Roth recorded the sixth Valencian goal (7-6), insufficient to win overtime.

Facing the title holder, chased the score to finally lose (2-3). Young Arthur Delvaille opened the scoring for , in front of some Nantes supporters who made the trip. New recruit Carson Kosobud scored the equalizer, but Nantes took the lead again a few minutes before the end of the first third thanks to a goal from Sean Ross. Strasbourg was able to come back to the score thanks to an action by Sébastien Trudeau. Quentin Jacquier scored the third and final goal for the Corsairs. Despite the exit of Tomas Hiadlovsky two minutes from the end of the match and a game of 6 against 5, the Strasbourg residents failed to equalize. The Nantes team therefore won three precious points to move the points counter closer to zero by erasing the penalty.

Second home game for the HCMP and second victory (3-2 ap)! If Caen opened the scoring in the middle third through Thomas Carminati, Zachary Brooks and Samuel Guilbault allowed HCMP to take the lead. With nine minutes remaining, Alexandre Mulle equalized for , sending everyone into overtime. And it was ultimately the locals who won, with a new goal from Zachary Brooks.

HAS and HC Mont Blanc won (3-4). Mathis Chatellard scored the first goal, followed by Arthur Devouassoux and Vladimir Dzhig. Carried away by the atmosphere of Raffoux, the Corsairs returned thanks to the actions of Rayan Belharfi and Zackary Daneau. But the hopes were short-lived for the locals. Mathis Chatellard once again deceived Michael Luba. The last Dunkirk goal scored by Romain Carpentier was not enough to return to equality.

At home Saturday evening, Brest won his first victory by winning 4-3 against the vice-champion, Chambery. If the tie was perfect between the two teams at the end of the first third (goals signed by Adam Nobes and Joé Dube), worked harder in the middle third. The Albatross scored three goals in ten minutes: a double from Veeti Vuorio and a goal from Théo Fourcade allowed Brest to secure their rear. Nicholas Cherkowski and Bradley Stonnell reduced the score, but the goal difference allowed the Albatross to obtain their first points.

Let’s leave for the region, where the Comets of scared each other, but won (3-2). It all started with a goal Villard-de-Lans signed Anthony Raveaud in the first third. The visitors took advantage of a numerical superiority to widen the gap, through Pablo Zaballa. Then, the locals found the key to deceiving Loïc Finé three times in a row, thanks to Yoanne Lacheny, Pontus Eklof and Elliot Lorraine. Enough to clinch the victory, the second of the week for Meudon.

Great operation for the Penguins Morzine-Avoriazthe only team to have won with more than a goal difference (4-1). The hosts finished the middle third leading 3-0, with a double from Feliks Morozov and a goal from Alexei Zakarlyukin. Blake Luscombe hit the nail on the head, the Remparts of Tours scored their only goal of the evening after calling a timeout, by Kyle Gibbons on the power play.

Let’s return to the Paris region, to the Garges-les-Gonnesse ice rink where the Bisons of Neuilly-sur- won on penalties against (2-1 tab). In front of a hundred spectators, Baptiste Couturier opened the scoring for Cholet, followed by an equalizer from Carson MacKinnon. Neither team was able to break away in the third period and during overtime. We had to wait for the penalties for Neuilly-sur-Marne to sign another victory, the third in as many matches. The Bisons remain positioned in first place.
