Apartment fire in the New Yorkais nightclub building in Angers

Firefighters intervened last night from Saturday October 12 to Sunday October 13, 2024 for a fire in the New Yorkais building, rue Maillé in Angers (Maine-et-Loire).

It was 3 a.m. when the firefighters intervened at 5, rue Maillé in Angers (Maine-et-Loire), in the New Yorkais building. It is a building with two floors and a basement. The fire broke out in one of the apartments and spread to the roof. There is a risk of a collapsing chimney and two dogs-sitting.

80 to 100 people were evacuated. Two people, intoxicated by the fumes, were transported to the Angers university hospital center. Four fire hoses, two ladders, 13 vehicles and 56 firefighters were needed to bring the fire under control.
