Fire near Toulouse. Firefighters rescue 90-year-old woman trapped on her balcony

She was stuck on her balcony while the fire ravaged his apartment. The firefighters of SDIS31 (Haute-Garonne departmental fire and rescue service) intervened in Cugnaux, near Toulouse this Thursday, October 10, 2024.

The fire burns the kitchen

Shortly before 4 p.m., a fire occurred in an apartment located on the first floor of a three-story building. “The fire was localized at the kitchen level and was quickly brought under control using a water lance,” specifies the SDIS.

The victim, a 90 year old womanhad inhaled fumes. She was transported in “relative emergency” to the Purpan hospital center. The emergency services also provided assistance and brought to safety a dog and a cat belonging to him.

Around twenty firefighters and five vehicles deployed

In total, around twenty firefighters equipped with five emergency vehicles were deployed to the scene of the disaster. The gendarmerie has opened an investigation to determine the exact origin of the incident.
