A man victim of an electric scooter accident in Sherbrooke succumbs to his injuries

The criminal investigations division has established that no other vehicle was involved in the event and that no criminal action was taken. It was a fall that caused the man’s injuries and subsequent death.

The man was found unconscious on the ground with his electric scooter during the night from Saturday to Sunday in Sherbrooke. An emergency call was made by a citizen around 2:50 a.m. to report that the man in question was lying on the ground facing 50 Burlington Street.

Emergency services were quickly dispatched to the scene. After carrying out emergency maneuvers on site, paramedics took the victim to hospital.

The victim was wearing a safety helmet. Investigators are continuing their work to establish the precise causes that could have caused the fall. The coroner is also participating in the investigation. The condition of the roadway, which was uneven at the end of the week – and still under construction on Monday – could be to blame.
