Donald Trump was born in 1946 in Queens, New York. He is the fourth in a family of five children. The son of German immigrants, his father Fred is a wealthy real estate developer. His mother Mary comes from Scotland. Restless and undisciplined, young Donald was sent to a military boarding school before entering business school at the University of Pennsylvania in 1968. He then worked for his father. “Nothing has been easy for me. I started in Brooklyn, my dad gave me a little loan of a million dollars” he said on an NBC show in October. “I launched in Manhattan, and I had to pay it back with interest“.

He was married three times: two models, one actress. He has five children, ten grandchildren.

Involved in politics from the 1980s, he unexpectedly became the candidate of the Republican Party at the end of the American primaries of 2016. He was elected president of UNITED STATES on November 8, 2016, against the Democrat Hillary Clinton. In 2020, he was a candidate for his own succession but lost the election to the Democrat Joe Biden. In March 2024, Donald Trump won the Republican primary in the US presidential election. In June of that year, he was convicted of 34 counts of falsifying accounting records in the Stormy Daniels case. The former US president faces up to four years in prison. In July 2024, the ex-president was the victim of an assassination attempt. And he designates his vice-president in the event of victory in the presidential election: the senator from Ohio, Jame David Vance.
