The LFI-NFP group excludes Isère MP Hugo Prevost after being informed of “serious facts of a sexual nature”

In a press release published this Tuesday, October 8 evening on social networks, the LFI-NFP (New Popular Front) parliamentary group indicates that it had been contacted two weeks earlier, on September 23, by the Vigilance Committee against sexist and sexual violence. (CVSS) from La Insoumise “concerning serious acts of a sexual nature which may constitute criminal offences, prior to his election, accused of MP Hugo Prevost”. The latter, elected deputy for the first constituency of Isère last July, was interviewed on October 2 by a delegation mandated by the office of the parliamentary group. This Tuesday, October 8, the LFI-NFP group declared the exclusion of the Isère MP.

The late announcement of the exclusion this Tuesday evening sparked reactions. On the website of our colleagues at Dauphiné LibéréEmmanuel Macron’s former minister Olivier Véran, whom Hugo Prevost defeated in the last legislative elections in the 1st constituency of Isère, urges the parliamentary group to refer the matter to the public prosecutor.
