In Franche-Comté, the Jura department came out of orange rain-flood vigilance at 2 p.m. on Tuesday October 8, but Haute-Saône is now placed on orange flood vigilance.

This Tuesday, October 8 in the morning, due to heavy rainfall over the last 24 hours, Météo France’s forecast services have placed the four departments of Franche-Comté on yellow flood alert: Haute-Saône, Doubs, Jura and Territoire de Belfort are affected by these floods. The water level is expected to continue to rise during the day, and for certain sections, until Wednesday morning.

The tributaries of the Doubs, and the Doubs, upstream of Arcier, the Saône, and the Ognon are particularly concerned.

In Roche-et-Raucourt, upstream of Gray, the Vannon, a tributary of the Saône, had burst its banks and was already crossing the village at 10 a.m. Tuesday. The water could rise until the night of Tuesday to Wednesday.

If the heavy precipitation at the start of the week should stop in the middle of the day, as Vigicrue indicates, they cause reactions on almost all of the watercourses monitored, particularly on the Saône upstream where the levels of first overflows and localized damage are reached at the end of this morning”.

The Haute-Saône firefighters were heavily called upon from the start of the morning. At 11 a.m. this Tuesday, October 8, Codis 70 had carried out around a hundred interventions since 10 p.m. the day before, for flooding and the safety of property and people. In total, 82 municipalities in this department would be affected by these floods.

The day before, the Haute-Saône prefecture reminded people of the right actions to take in the event of rising water levels near a home: cut off water, gas and electricity, cancel trips, and stay away from local areas as much as possible. ea course

If the Doubs, downstream of Besançon, and the watercourses in the Jura were not generally placed on yellow alert by Vigicrue this Tuesday at the end of the morning, there were floods occurring on site. In Fraisans in Jura, for example, firefighters were fighting to prevent the EHPAD from being flooded.

In the Jura, traffic is difficult on certain roads. The Jura prefecture indicates in its publication the places where the roads are blocked.

In Grandfontaine, in the urban area of ​​Besançon, a vehicle was trapped in the flooding of the Doubs.

Certain rivers could reach a flood peak during the day on Tuesday: the Seille in the Jura, and the Saône, upstream of the Lanterne. In the Jura, the Seille is currently the only sector placed on flood alert.

Update : In the middle of the afternoon, the Jura prefecture announced the end of the vigilance episode and took stock of the floods. The Seille is, however, still on orange alert.

In the Doubs, Haute-Saône and the Territoire de Belfort, the water level should continue to rise until Tuesday evening for the Savoureuse and its tributaries in the Territoire de Belfort, on the Doubs upstream of Arcier , a sector which concerns the entire Doubs valley from Montbéliard to Besançon.

In the Pays de Montbéliard, the Allan, and in Haute-Saône, the Saône from the Lanterne sector to the Ognon, could see their water levels rise until Wednesday morning.
