The chairlift scene in Tanned people go skiing, an icy memory for Michel Blanc

In one of the scenes filmed in Val-d’Isère, Jean-Claude Dusse (Michel Blanc), who came with his group of friends on vacation, takes a chairlift. The chairlift driver finishes his day and stops the ski lifts. Jean-Claude Dusse finds himself stranded without anyone coming to his aid. The man wrapped in his ski suit then thinks of a technical problem in this scene: “I hope it won’t last long, I’ll be late.” But it takes time and night falls. He begins to sing When will I see you again, wonderful country before dropping into the snow. Many years later, Michel Blanc declared that he had very bad memories of this scene which exhausted him.

I was hit by the icy wind in the face“, the ordeal of Michel Blanc stuck on the chairlift

In a documentary dedicated to The Splendid, the actor described this rather painful scene from his point of view: “It was cold, it was minus 15, I was hit by the icy wind in the face.” This scene had to be shot several times in order to maintain the best take. Each time, the actor was obliged to completely redo the route, which lasted a quarter of an hour from the bottom of the track to the top .
