On October 3, 2004, Marc Cherry created for the ABC channel Desperate Housewivesa soap opera that would get everyone hooked. Twenty years later, we decided to pay tribute to him by remembering ten totally destroyed storylines, which made this cult series so special. Happy Birthday !

Season 6, episode 23

When Angie Bolen, a new neighbor with a past as an eco-terrorist, is caught by her ex Logan, seeking revenge and who is holding her and her family hostage, she has no choice but to create a bomb who would bring down his house. Except… Angie actually placed the explosive in the detonator… which is in Logan’s hands. GASP!

Season 3, episode 2

Carlos and Gaby want a baby and, after exhausting other options, ask their housekeeper Xiao-Mei to be the surrogate. When the baby is born, it is black… oops. She was actually inseminated with another couple’s embryo.

Season 4, episode 9

No one has forgotten the episode where the tornado hits Wisteria Lane. A good little deus ex machina that only the best soap operas have the secret of and which reshuffles the cards: Victor, Gaby’s latest husband dies impaled, and Carlos barely has time to rejoice before he is injured by debris and becomes blind. Oh, and Bree’s (so perfect) house is destroyed.

Season 5, episode 18

Edie barely escapes a violent fit from her husband Dave and rushes to her car. In her escape, she almost runs over Orson, swerves and crashes into an electrical pole. After at least three jump scares, she gets out of her car, steps into a puddle, and dies electrocuted by a dangling electrical wire. Justice for Edie!

Season 3, episode 18

We’re not even going to try to put this revelation into context: Mrs. McCluskey kept her husband’s body in her freezer, right next to the popsicles, as the series reveals in episode 18. This one being untraceable on the internet, we brought you the moment, in episode 20, where she confesses everything to her neighbors.

Season 6, episode 10

In the middle of Christmas celebration, a passenger plane crashes in the middle of Wisteria Lane. Outcome: Susan’s ex-husband, Karl, is dead, Lynette, pregnant with twins (again), miscarries and loses one of the two babies, and Orson ends up paraplegic.

Season 1, episode 1

When Susan suspects Mike of having sex with Edie, she enters his frenemy to find out more, but, clumsy as she is, accidentally sets the house on fire. Oopsie.

Season 4, episode 17

Katherine reveals that because her daughter died when she was little, she adopted a child who looked like her from an orphanage in Romania.

Season 3, episode 7

A resident of Wisteria Lane takes her husband hostage in a convenience store, just like Julie, Austin, Edie, and poor Lynette who will take a stray bullet. This woman’s bad luck…

Season 2, episode 10

George, Bree’s pharmacist, is also a maniac obsessed with her. One day, Bree is summoned by the cops and discovers the pot of roses: he had an inflatable doll in his likeness. Creepy.
