Loïs Openda will arrive in good shape for the Red Devils. The RB Leipzig striker found the net again, and celebrated with a celebration explained after the match.
RB Leipzig can thank Loïs Openda. The Belgian scored the only goal in his club’s victory at Heidenheim (0-1) this Sunday. After scoring in the 59th minute, Openda pointed towards the aisles of the stadium and blew a kiss in the stands.
“It was for my wife and my son, who were at the stadium this evening,” said a smiling Openda after the victory. “I could have scored more than once tonight, but I’m happy to go into the international break with this victory.”
Loïs Openda scored his 4th goal of the season and will therefore arrive in great shape for Belgium’s very difficult trip to Italy. He knows it: he will play big in the absence, once again, of Romelu Lukaku. Many see Openda as the inevitable successor to the top scorer in the history of the selection, but success eludes the former Bruges player.
Since the arrival of Domenico Tedesco at the head of the Red Devils, Loïs Openda has not yet scored a single goal for the national team. We will have to break this curse…
