a march in for the release of the hostages

A year after the deadly Hamas attacks on Israeli territory, several rallies are organized in France to call for the release of the hostages and “to give them back their humanity” in the words of the Tous association October 7.

“No ceasefire will be able to intervene in this gaping wound, and France and international authorities must plus for the hostages and their families”, explains Céline Attal, founder of this association which declares itself “citizen, apolitical, universalist and secular”.

In , the meeting for this commemorative march is given at 6 p.m. by the organizers, place du Fontenoy in 7e borough. The association hopes for the participation of thousands of people. “The hostage issue is a gigantic suffering which affects 19 nationalities, with a complete denial of international conventions, and the idea that terrorism is a political means”, declares the founder of the Tous association October 7.

In Hauts-de-Seine, another commemoration will be held around 6:45 p.m. in Levallois-Perret. A ceremony led by the mayor (LR) Agnès Pottier-Dumas. The names of the 101 hostages will be read aloud. On December 15, 2023, the councilor came to support a speech organized by the city’s Jewish community center. A 36 m2 tarpaulin with the faces of the hostages had been installed on the front of the center.
