In Gaza, Hamas still sequesters several dozen Israeli hostages

DECRYPTION – Almost a year after October 7, 101 people are still officially prisoners of terrorists. Israeli authorities estimate that at least 31 are no longer alive.

Their nightmare began exactly a year ago. This October 7, at dawn, when the Islamist Hamas militiamen carried out their deadly offensives in southern Israel. The inhabitants of seven kibbutzim, including Nir Oz, Beeri or Kfar Aza, those of the town of Sderot or the ravers of the Tribe of Nova festival are caught in this bloody wave. According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), some 1,400 people died, including 1,033 civilians. Men, women and children, old people too, Israelis and foreigners. Others, still 251 according to the army, were taken to the Gaza Strip and taken hostage, including 25 soldiers.
