Hundreds of pupils and students without a building to study. Since 3:10 p.m. this Saturday, October 5, 90 firefighters have been mobilized to fight the fire. The fire broke out at Pôle la Chartreuse on the roof of a building which houses the classrooms of the high school and higher education courses in the town of Brives-Charensac in the Puy-en conurbation. -Velay, in Haute-Loire.
“Great damage”
On site, Mayor Gilles Delabre is defeatist. “An entire wing is on fire. There is major damage. The part that is destroyed concerns the high school students” Tiles and photovoltaic panels are destroyed. The operation is still in progress at the La Chartreuse establishment. Starting tomorrow, the question of rehousing students will arise.
