Operation “Raízes do Cedro” is part of the Brazilian government’s efforts to guarantee the safety of its citizens amid a context of growing tension in the region. In a statement released by the federal government, it was informed that passengers included on this flight are receiving the necessary guidance for boarding at the airport in the Lebanese capital.

The government also reiterated the importance of following security guidelines issued by the embassy in Beirut and local authorities. Furthermore, he advised Brazilians who have resources to consider leaving Lebanon by their own means.

Although the repatriation was initially scheduled for Friday, October 4, the operation was postponed to allow for a more careful analysis of security conditions, especially after the intensified Israeli bombings that hit several areas close to Beirut airport on Thursday night. -fair.

The first phase of Operation Cedro Roots aims to transport 220 Brazilians who are in Lebanon. The general objective of this operation is to repatriate up to 500 people per week, considering that approximately 20 thousand Brazilians reside in the country.

With conflicts and instability in the region continuing, the Brazilian government is committed to facilitating the safe repatriation of its citizens and maintaining constant communication with everyone involved in the operation. This effort shows the priority that the country gives to the protection and well-being of its citizens abroad.
