Daniel liquidated in two comfortable sets

Good first for Jannik Sinner in the Shanghai Masters 1000. The world number one made his debut in the Chinese tournament, beating the Japanese in two sets Taro Daniel with the score 6-1 6-4 after one hour and seventeen minutes of play. A decidedly convincing performance from the South Tyrolean, who thus obtains it his 250th career win at ATP level. In the third round Sinner will face the Argentine Tomas Martin Etcheverry, who yesterday emerged victorious in a marathon of almost four hours with the Dutch Van de Zandschulp.

The performance is really excellent with the first serve for the bluewho finished with twelve aces and also 78% points with this shot. A truly authoritarian sinner who showed greater power in his shots compared to Daniel, who in the second set had to play at a very high level to even try to stay close to the Italian in the match. Sinner then finished with thirty-eight winners and twelve unforced errors.

The first set is a monologue from the world number one. Sinner breaks the balance in the fourth game, immediately taking advantage of the first break point at his disposal. There’s really no match, because the Japanese can’t keep up with the speed of the blue, who is very aggressive in response. In the fifth game Jannik breaks Daniel’s serve to zero, finishing with an excellent forehand down the line. The set slips away easily 6-1 in favor of Sinner.

There is an immediate break point at the start of the second set, but the blue’s backhand stops on the tape. The break is only postponed and arrives in the third game, when Sinner gets two more chances and the Japanese make an error on the second. Daniel then saved himself in an incredible fifth game, with Jannik inventing some sensational shots and with the Japanese canceling four break points. Sinner concedes nothing in his rounds at bat and closes at 6-4, qualifying for the next round.
