Murder of Filipina. In , the far-right and anti-fascists call for demonstrations on Saturday

On September 21, 2024, the body of Philippine, a 19-year-old student, was found in the de Boulogne, in . After she was raped and killed by a Moroccan in an irregular situation, subject to an Obligation to Leave French Territory (OQTF).

This murder, which sparked a wave of emotion in the country, also provoked lively debates within the political class. The far right, which denounces “state laxity” on the management of these OQTFs, has already organized several meetings.

Call for reform of the “judicial system”

This will be the case this Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., on Place Aristide-Briand in (), at the call of Génération Zemmour and the Union of Rights for the Republic, the new party founded by Éric Ciotti. In Sarthe, François Fèvre, the departmental referent, ex-RN candidate for the 2024 legislative elections, intends to take advantage of this to “call on the new government to reform the judicial system and above all to ensure the proper application of penalties and obligations to leave the territory”.

The same day, at 10 a.m., on the Place du Jet-d’eau, movements and collectives claiming to be anti-fascist also launched a call to come together. They denounce “a racist exploitation, associating foreigners under OQTF and criminals […] Far-right parties only brandish the feminist card when the criminal is not white.”

A declared demonstration

Contacted this Friday, the prefect’s office indicates that only the demonstration to denounce the “state laxity” is the subject of a declaration. Are reinforcements planned, while the Fais lire! book fair will take place this Saturday! ? “We will adopt the necessary security measures, according to the analysis of the situation, to be able to ensure the safety of demonstrators and the population”state services respond.
