Red meat prices are at record highs

The prices of red meats continue to soar in Morocco. Prices for sheep meat fluctuate between 140 and 150 dirhams and those for beef have reached 120 dirhams, which has angered consumers.

Contacted by Le Site info, a professional in the sector indicated that this increase in prices is due to the drought which has affected the Kingdom for several years and the delay in rainfall. “The prices of red meats are likely to rise further in the coming weeks,” he also underlined.

Furthermore, this increase did not fail to provoke a reaction from Internet users who expressed their indignation and pointed the finger at those responsible, incapable, according to them, of preserving the purchasing power of Moroccans.

Recall that Fadwa Mohsine El Hayani, PPSist deputy in the House of Representatives, had questioned the Ministry of Agriculture Mohamed Sadiki regarding the surge in prices of red meat, questioning the measures planned to regulate prices.
