3rd edition of CéLot’omne on Grand Figeac

After the “Célé’té” event around the prevention of water resources, the team of Mixed union of the Célé Lot-médian basin, continues its public awareness action with the 3e edition of CéLot’omne. Her president, Bernard Laboriereturns to the objectives of the event. “CéLot’omne is about raising awareness and promoting awareness of the risks of flooding. For the population of our watershed, it is about adapting a new culture in the face of risks and knowing how to behave. »

The Union is intervening here as part of the Flood Prevention Action Program (PAPI) for the Lot basin and in continuation of the national day “All resilient in the face of risks” on Sunday October 13. A series of events around flood prevention and management of aquatic environments are being organized from October 5 to 15. These activities are aimed at different audiences (schools, elected officials, partners, general public) to raise awareness and inform them about the risks linked to flooding, the right behaviors to follow, the means of control or prevention, the functioning of hydrosystems, etc.

First meeting this Saturday in Cajarc

“CéLot’omne” 2024 begins Saturday October 5 at the Françoise Sagan space in Cajarc at 3 p.m. with a conference on the role of dams during flood periods. In partnership with EDF, a guided tour of that of Cajarc, on the Lot, will allow you to discover how the hydraulic structure works and its role in the event of heavy precipitation.

Wednesday, October 9 at 2 p.m., near Marcolès (Cantal)an information meeting is organized, followed by a guided tour, in partnership with the Auvergne – Rhône-Alpes regional forest property center. Owners and forestry professionals will be able to understand the role of the forest in the face of flood risk. The same day, at the Agora room in Capdenac-Gare (Aveyron) at 8:30 p.m., conference on the theme “Is your home ready to face flooding? », the opportunity to find out more about what your home is prepared to do in the face of flooding, to know its vulnerabilities, the appropriate protection measures, the aid available, to know what a municipal protection plan is ( PCS).

Friday October 11 at 6:30 p.m., the village hall Salles-Courbatiers (Aveyron) hosts a conference dedicated to the functioning of karst, a particular geological formation present in the rivers of the Causse such as the Diège. Led by the design offices ANTEA, CEREG, and the Célé Lot-médian Joint Union, it addresses the relationship between karst and floods, in order to better understand for better prevention.

Tuesday October 15, it’s the return of the “Crue’Tour”, to leave by bus to the discovery of current actions and projects on the theme of flood prevention. The meeting place is Place Besombes in Figeac at 9 a.m. This 2e edition of the “Crue’Tour” begins at the Chapou school, which has benefited from work on vulnerability to flooding, followed by a visit to the storm basin construction site near the Célé, to end with a stop at the containment system in the Lafarrayrie area. In the afternoon, the “Crue’Tour” heads to Auzits (Aveyron) to see the work underway to reopen the Riou Viou. The last stop is in Boisse-Penchot (Aveyron), discovering the plantations of flood protection hedges and densification of the riparian forest on the banks of the Lot.
