The Rossini auction house, located in in the Drouot district, is back in Vendée.

Its auctioneers are offering a day of free appraisals and estimates in La Roche-sur-Yon, Tuesday October 8, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., at the Hôtel Mercure, 117 boulevard Aristide-Briand.

According to Maître Benoît Triffault-David“everyone can own a valuable object, sometimes without even knowing it”. This event aims to make this service, often perceived as elitist, accessible.

A simple process

The course of the day is simple: after making an appointment, residents can bring their art objects for a free, no-obligation expertise.

Auctioneers evaluate paintings, sculptures, jewelry, gold coins, stamps, great wines, old toys, and any other collectible.

If the owners wish to sell, a sales mandate contract is established with a reserve price. The objects are then presented during thematic auctions in Paris.

In the event of a sale, Rossini retains a commission of 22.8% of the final price.

Hidden treasures

These expertise days are a great success. Visitors are varied: curious, collectors, people looking for funds for projects, or those seeking to verify family myths. “We sometimes find real treasures,” emphasizes Maître Triffault-David.

He cites for example three small gold coins sold for €130,000 and a painting by the Indochinese painter Vu Cao Dam sold for €41,000, although the owner thought it was worth €200.

To participate in this day, making an appointment is mandatory. Interested parties can contact Maître Benoît Triffault-David on 06 20 14 33 68 or by email at [email protected].
