Guy Batherosse, mayor of Capdenac-le-Haut, hopes that the TIL will be able to serve his town

the essential
Located on the TIL line, the town of Capdenac-le-Haut requires a service for its residents. The mayor, Guy Batherosse, pleads for new stops. It also takes stock of the work in progress near the Couquet area. Interview.

One month after the launch of TIL, transport of local interest, which connects the activity zones of Grand Figeac, the mayor of Capdenac-le-Haut, Guy Batherosse underlines the interest of this free service but above all hopes that his municipality will one day be able to benefit from it. As he has already expressed in the community council, the elected official regrets being excluded from the system. “We are putting in place a transport system that we have been waiting for for years but we find it unacceptable that this bus which travels 3 km in our town does not stop there.” On the line, a stop is planned at the Couquet area roundabout but is not currently served due to the works. In the Grand Figeac Council, the desire not to serve the commercial area was also defended to avoid competing with small businesses in the town centers of Figeac and Capdenac-Gare.

“It’s a real lack”

Dissatisfied, the mayor of Capdenac-le-Haut therefore did not wish to participate in the inaugural route of the TIL but still tested the line, from Cambes. “This reassured us in the idea that it is a good service. We have never disputed that but it is a real harm for the population of Capdenac-le-Haut not to benefit from it. It is a real lack”. Guy Batherosse challenged the president of Grand Figeac in a letter on this issue. The mayor recalls the need for his citizens to benefit from this mode of mobility and also highlights the service that could be provided to employees in the Couquet commercial area, i.e. around 300 jobs. Another argument: the project of the municipality of Capdenac-le-Haut to develop a carpooling area and a bicycle shelter in Lacapelette, next to the Monument of the Map of . Stopping the TIL at the roundabout would be logical for Guy Batherosse in order to encourage motorists not to use their cars.

In the meantime, the mayor of Capdenac-le-Haut, also president of the intercommunal sanitation and drinking water union, is following the work carried out around the Couquet area with great attention. “We have already made the climb towards the cultural Leclerc, also on the side of Intersport and Jouéclub and part of the network was put in place before the roundabout was built. The connection between Bricorama and Leclerc was connected. Today Today the work that we see along the departmental road is the pipeline between the new Couquet network and the existing network up to the Plantades bend. The connection of the shops should be possible at the very beginning of the year. “. But for the rest of the project, we must wait for the start of the major redevelopment and security of access to the area which will be carried out in a few months by Grand Figeac.
